Every Reason to Smile

At Oris, we don’t just transform smiles, but also how our patients feel about themselves, often in ways they never thought possible. The fine aesthetic insight and superior artistry of our work produce beautiful, natural looking outcomes that fill our patients with confidence and happiness. See the joyful journeys of a small selection of them below.

Case Study 1

This patient was unhappy with: Spaces between her teeth, the striations (stripey look) across them and poor alignment and Small size of her teeth, particularly the shortness of her front teeth which were not visible when she smiled. I first performed gum surgery to expose hidden tooth structure, then designed and placed porcelain veneers to achieve the desired improvements in shape, color and form. This makeover did not just transform her smile, but her sense of self.

Case Study 2

Years of competitive hockey, holding nails and screws in his mouth as a general contractor and smoking, contributed to this patient’s broken teeth, crowded lower teeth and back teeth that had been extracted many years prior. After years of patching, he doubted that anything could be done to improve his “bad mouth”. His restoration consisted of several implants to replace back teeth with crowns, and veneers on his upper and lower teeth to achieve full function.

Case Study 3

Driven by a desire to feel less self-conscious when she smiled, this patient didn’t like how crooked her front teeth were and how much the upper front teeth protruded. Yet, she had a strong aversion to orthodontic treatment. So I resolved her concern by carefully designing and placing porcelain veneers. She was delighted.

Case Study 4

In this makeover, the patient’s  upper front teeth had poor bone (root) support and needed to be extracted. I then applied Invisalign orthodontics to close the mid line gap and completed the transformation with a porcelain bridge to replace the extracted teeth.

Case Study 5

This patient felt that his teeth were too small for his strong jawline. His concern was addressed by performing crown lengthening surgery at Oris to create a proper base for placement of eight porcelain veneers. I designed these veneers to make his smile more prominent and increase lip support.

Case Study 7

Multiple failing composite fillings and gum recession caused this patient to feel resigned to having bad teeth. I saw that I could restore his positive outlook by bringing balance to his smile and eliminating the varied shades on his teeth with the placement of eight porcelain crowns that would protect the remaining tooth structure. He was ready to smile again after years of repressing his natural tendency.

Case Study 8

After years of a sugar heavy diet and an inability to obtain dental care, this patient’s small cavities grew to cause significant damage to their teeth, confidence and self esteem. I removed all of the decay and replaced the missing tooth structure with composite resin fillings. Having addressed critical concerns, the patient began InvisalignTM treatment to resolve the crookedness of the rest of their teeth and improve their ability to chew effectively.

Case Study 9

This young patient fell while skateboarding and fractured a front tooth. Fortunately the nerve was not damaged so I could restore the tooth applying freehand composite sculpting with fine attention to detail and precise color matching.

Case Study 10

In this case, the crooked, rotated front teeth with worn edges were solved with porcelain veneers because the patient wanted a result more urgently than could be achieved with the InvisalignTM orthodontic process. I selected a lighter tooth shade for the veneers for a result that looks completely natural.

Case Study 11

Born without the cells for a lateral incisor tooth, this patient had worn temporary “flippers” all her life. Now that she was preparing for her wedding, she wanted a more aesthetic and permanent solution. While the typical remedy would be an implant, she lacked the underlying bone support to achieve this, necessitating the conservative Maryland Bridge solution. This involves attaching the replacement tooth to the adjacent teeth with bonded “wings”.

Case Study 12

This patient presented after InvisalignTM treatment and the placement of two implants under the care of his dentist in LA. I designed and placed two crowns on the implants, as well as six porcelain veneers that provided the patient with the aesthetic solution he desired. He was delighted at actually seeing what he had been imagining for many years.

Case Study 13

The unmatched shades and shapes created by numerous old fillings, along with lifeless (opaque) looking crowns made this patient very unhappy with their appearance. I prescribed InvisalignTM orthodontics to improve tooth alignment and then designed porcelain veneers and crowns which I placed to achieve a balanced shape and tooth length with a hue that matches her natural teeth.

Case Study 14

Many years before visiting Oris, this patient had two crowns placed that now looked artificial and didn’t completely cover the underlying teeth or blend with the adjacent ones. I replaced the old ones with two porcelain crowns of exceptional form to match the adjacent teeth in both shade and length while transitioning beautifully at the gumline. Now her even, natural looking smile gains frequent compliments.

Case Study 15

A history of grinding her teeth caused  significant damage to the enamel structure along the tooth edges of this patient. Before fabricating a protective night guard I restored her teeth to their original form and beauty with freehand composite sculpting.
